End-of-chapter questions, and moving to a terminal workflow
Today I worked through the end-of-chapter questions for the Variables chapter. They were a good refresher, and none of them were too difficult.
I created a GitHub repository for all of my Launch School work so I can access my files while I’m at work. My work laptop runs Windows, so I use WSL for Linux. At home, I use a Mac mini.
I had been using a JetBrains IDE, but I’ve now opted to do everything within the terminal. To edit my Ruby files, I use an editor called Micro, which supports conventional keyboard shortcuts instead of Vim-style keybindings.
Working in the terminal helps me become more comfortable with the command line and prevents me from relying on IDE autocomplete. I know I could turn those features off in an IDE, but using the terminal is way cooler.
I ended my study session with one question left to answer. I’ll complete it during my next session.
